Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for implementing and executing inspections, testing, and evaluating methods to ensure that the Company’s products, services, and processes adhere to industry, legal, and company standards. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control procedures and processes; solicit feedback to assess and document whether their requirements were met
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery
  • Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products, services, and production equipment to ensure final products are up to industry and Company standards and document results
  • Work with Engineering to set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
  • Communicate quality standards and parameters to Production team, Product Development team, and other appropriate staff
  • Collaborate in continuous improvement projects that include documented work procedures throughout the Company and troubleshooting and correcting processes that are sub-standard
  • Perform and support internal and external quality audits associated with maintain the Company’s quality certifications
  • Maintain the ISO-9001: 2015 certification and serve main point of contact with the certifying body and inspectors
  • Maintain and facilitate the timely update of Roctest’s Quality KPIs
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies
  • Support the ERP system, implementing and improving product items, routings and BOMs; Implement ERP reports and lists as needed
  • Comply with company work rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and enforce safe work practices
  • Perform other duties related to job as may be requested or required to maintain and improve operations

 

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Logistics Management, or equivalent quality management experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in Quality Management required
  • Professional certification through ASQ, CMQ/OE or equivalent preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Fluent in French and English preferred
  • Knowledge of instrumentation manufacturing and assembly preferred
  • Experience in ERP system preferred
  • Effective communicator with a variety of people from management to the shop floor
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate under deadlines and meet standards
  • Ability to analyze information, identify and troubleshoot problems
