Fig.1 Impression of Cuyperstrap
Commissioned by the municipality of Amsterdam, Max Bögl Nederland is building the Cuyperstrap in the monumental station building of Amsterdam Central, as part of ‘project De Entree’; Cuyperstrap will enable a dry transfer from train to metro station.

The Cuyperstrap construction monitoring system consists of 2 inclinometer tubes to measure any deformations outside the construction pit. BouwRisk B.V. from Eindhoven has installed two PISA-M bi-axial in-place MEMS inclinometers from Smartec / Roctest.
The PISA-M in-place MEMS inclinometers combined with cellular modems enable to remotely and continuously monitor the lateral displacements of the soil. That way the construction process could be carried out without manual inclinometer measurements and with high precision of ±0.2 mm/m of lateral soil displacement at any time during the construction works.
Fig.2 Data visualisation with monitoring software from Belgium company Vision42
Combing the PISA-M logger with monitoring software from Belgium data monitoring company Vision42, the end customer had total insight in the lateral soil displacement of the walls surrounding the construction site. Using the PISA-M in-place MEMS inclinometer with logger and cellular modem reduced the visits of the construction site to a limited number of times instead of performing numerous manual inclinometer measurements. Without the use of the PISA-M logger it would not have been possible to achieve this fact. The added value of using the PISA-M logger can clearly be defined on the basis of this project.
